2. What data is collected

When you accept the cookie banner, this site uses Google Analytics 4 to collect:

• Pages viewed and standard technical data (approximate location derived from IP, device/browser type, referrer)
• Session duration and engagement time
• Which terminal commands you run (e.g. help, games snake), sent as a custom event so we can see which parts of the site and which mini-games are used most
• Which mini-games you start in the arcade on the home page

Google Analytics sets cookies (e.g. _ga, _ga_<container-id>) to distinguish visitors. These cookies are only set after you accept the cookie banner.

3. Hosting and data stored in your browser

This site is hosted by Contabo GmbH, Aschauer Straße 32a, 81549 München, Germany. When you visit a page, the web server temporarily processes technical data such as your IP address, the date and time of the request, the requested page, the browser and the referring page. This is necessary to deliver the site and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest). It is not combined with other data and not used to identify you.

Your browser also stores your cookie choice and your best scores in the arcade games locally (local storage). This information stays on your device and is not sent to this site's server.

4. Legal basis and purpose

Analytics is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given via the cookie banner. The data helps us understand how visitors use the site so it can be improved. You can use the site fully without accepting analytics cookies.

5. Recipients and data transfers

The hosting provider Contabo GmbH processes the server data described in section 3 on our behalf. Analytics data is processed by Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC. Data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework as a safeguard for such transfers.

6. Retention

Event-level analytics data is retained in Google Analytics for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted. Cookies set by Google Analytics expire after up to 2 years unless removed earlier.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your data, restrict or object to processing, request data portability, and withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
